Interesting choice of battle plan. They are under the tablecloth. The potato salad is on top of the table cloth. Will they knock it off the table so it spills on the floor where they can gobble it all up? Or will they miss it by mere inches and plop off the opposite side of the table one by one by one? Stay tuned!
Thomas! You are supposed to be distracting! You’ve allowed her to turn around and notice! This is disastrous! They could well be . . . DOO_ well, you know.
Samwise from “The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers”: Po-ta-toes! Boil them, mash them, stick them in a stew. Lovely big golden chips with a nice piece of fried fish." :D Somehow I think that potato salad is definitely doomed.
OT: Nushi update – Nushi went to the vet today and was very brave and good for her blood draw. Results hopefully by Thursday, will let us know how well the medication is working. The immediate good news is that her agglutination test was negative, so her immune system is no longer attacking her red blood cells and I can wean her off of the prednisolone. Sunday will be her last of those pills, hopefully forever!
The vet said she looked good, but agreed with me that I should cut down on her food a little. She felt no signs of any abdominal fluid, but agreed with me that something was going on that was making it hard to give her the shots. She thinks that there has been some scarring and thickening of the skin along her back, so she showed me how to give it in her shoulder, where they usually give vaccines. She warned that she might be more sensitive, and she was right. Even with the gabapentin Nushi threw herself on her side and screamed at me. Then instead of getting up and continuing to eat like she normally does, she just laid there staring at me like….why!? I pet her and told her why and said I was sorry. She got up and finished eating and later purred as I cleaned her fur where some of the meds had once again leaked out. She’s such a good girl. I will keep trying to find ways to make this easier on her.
The big landmark since my last update is that Nushi leapt from the top shelf of the cat tree on to the bed. Not the very top nest like she used to, but still!! Even though she still wobbles a fair amount, her movements are getting smoother and she is becoming bolder in some of her movements. So good to see! (((((((((((Mega-Orb and Team Nushi))))))))))))
Woman, how long have you lived with cats, hmmmm? You should be unsurprised by anything by now (she typed while hearing behind her the unmistakable sound of the kitchen trash bin cupboard being pulled open….ok, cat chased off, cupboard bungee-corded closed one handed, getting better one handed with a week to cast off arm day) so why look so gob smacked?
I’m sorry to say, The Woman caught us, The movement under the cloth gave us awaaaaaaaay. Our shot at the potato salad is gone, We have becooooooooome … undone.
Sorry to hear that the injections are problematic, but delighted with more improvement. You are such a wonderful hoomin! Continued best wishes for progress!
OMC! I love this! The next part of the song is about the surrender, the potential end of slavery, the celebration and then The World Turned Upside Down – the potato salad looks like it might end upside down on the floor? I may have problem, not that it’s a bad problem, with obsessing over Hamilton.
OT: Team Nushi: Here is the link to the GoFundMe page for Nushi. For those who don’t know, “FIP” stands for Feline Infectious Peritonitis. As the name implies, it is a horrible disease, and until very recently, 100% fatal. No animal deserves to die like that. https://www.gofundme.com/help-nushi-beat-fip Please give whatever you can. The treatment is very expensive.
Wonderful news! Go, Nushi, go!! You’ll forget about the pain one day when you are all better and you seen to be on your way. Many purrs and headbumps to you, sweet Nushi.
must be a day for good news the police think they know who shot my poor kitty with the pellet gun. Kitty is completely healed but will always have a piece of here ear gone so reminder to keep kitties inside or an eye out on them when they are out side.
Reminds me of the cat we had that would sneak under the covers on the bed so she could bite my toes. Kitten practical joke. She thought it was hilarious.
I love the Boys’ collaboration with the Robber Mice ladies!
Dear Mega-Orb:
Thank you all again for your love & support… K’s death was a shock but not a surprise. She’d been really sick for at least 6 months, lost 80 lbs. but hated doctors & refused to go until she was too weak to walk & her daughter insisted she go to the ER, where they found out she had cancer all through her body. What a total waste (literally)!
We’d known each other for 10 years. K & PJ first became buds after they found out they’d grown up within a half mile of each other on Lawn Guyland. They never met there due to the 10-year age difference & the fact that she went to public schools & he went to Catholic school. K’s daughter was 9 when they moved into our building, & PJ became A’s “Uncle Philbert” & protector. K used to come downstairs & knock on our door with her hair all on fire over something she saw on the news. We’d just smile, shake our heads, & peel her off the ceiling…
I told A & the rest of my buds that I hope K has caught up with PJ & that he’s kicking her butt all over the place for being stubborn & not going to the doctor when she first got sick. A said, “HE WOULD!!!”
One of these old daze we’ll all meet up at the Great Callahan’s Crosstime Saloon in the Sky. In the mean time, A (who’s 19) is taking it pretty hard…please keep her in your thoughts & prayers & send her lots of good vibes, (((((HUGGZ))))), purrrrrrrrz, boops, headbonks, yips, chirps, ankle reinforcement, & all those other good stuffs…
