I almost got it right. I predicted they’d fall off the table, but I never imagined they’d take the table down with them. Pucky saves the day—and the potato salad!
Whew! I was relieved to finally get GoComics to open. I kept getting a notice that my browser was sending a message the server couldn’t understand. I hope whatever they’re going behind the scenes is going to make things better—not worse!
OK, the two mice in the air appear to be Natasha and violet! But there’s a second little brown face next to the woman. Alice is black and Agnes is sort of yellowish. I don’t see either of them. At first I thought the flying dark gray object was Alice, but then I realized it was Elvis’s tricorn hat. Somebody with a sharper screen resolution and better eyesight please help me out here.
Elvis’ hat is flying! I am not sure how much potato salad any of them will get out of this, as the woman will be chasing them to the far reaches of the Big Pink House.
I am sure that our Hamilton addicted friends will enlighten us as to the connection. I have really appreciated that as this arc has progressed.
I don’t think Lupin really cares about the potato salad. Lupin’s just having fun.
…although, from my (very, very) limited knowledge of Lafayette, that could have been said of him too. Anyone with that many names has to have a good sense of humor!
OT: Nushi update-just a quick update for now and I will update under this heading once I get the blood test results back sometime Thursday. Wednesday, 7/10 was Nushi’s 11 mo birthday (Still today here)!!! I wan’t sure I was going to get her to 10 months, so I’m so grateful and proud of her! On 8/10/2019 she will be 1 year old and will hopefully be 13 shots away from being done!!!! Nushi’s strength and good soul continue to amaze me. Had to do a double stick again today and she put her teeth on my hand for the 1st time. Did not bite me, and I am so proud of her for resisting the impulse. She is such a good, loving girl.
I do have to report that I’m starting to find small patches of bald skin where the meds irritated the skin, and 2 very small wounds in the middle of 2 of them. [^( I’m treating them as prescribed by UC Davis, with 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 2 parts water, but I’m looking for other treatments that are easier on the skin as well. I will talk to my vet tomorrow. I want to make sure that the fact these are showing up as I reduce the prednisolone isn’t connected. I hope not because I really don’t want to keep her on it. Nushi sat there and purred while I was treating them. She is really something, and I’m so thankful for her! Thanks to all for your support, kind words and encouragement. Purrs, boops, and prayers to all who need them.
Take a look back to the cartoon on 8th. Agnes is definitely wearing a blue dress, so I think she’s just come out a bit darker than usual in this strip.
Love all of the different reactions today. Lupin -unbridled joy, Elvis-panicky with his claws out trying to save himself, Puck-relaxed, no claws out just riding the wave, The Woman-resigned frustration. Hurry up and start eating Puck, you don’t have much time!
morning boops and nudges! Finally a sit down with police and a lawyer. Gee they like to move at their own pace, LOL. Anyways. Things could take up to a year before compensation. I myself am in pain still. Next doctors appointment is the 23rd.
Lupin being Lupin. Pucky has his priorities right and is going to make off with the potato salad. Woman being gobsmacked. Tommy no doubt laughing his fuzzy butt off.
OMG!! … OK, ok … I wiki-looked this up, on a lark, (which are hard to ride, I tell you!) … (wince) … OK, I’ll stop with that one, BUT …
There was ACTUALLY a … yes … ‘POTATO WAR’ !!! … I mean historically true! Here’s the deets on it:
The War of the Bavarian Succession (1778–1779) between the Habsburg Monarchy, Saxony, Bavaria and Prussia had no battles, and a few minor skirmishes, but several thousand casualties. The conflict was also called the Potato War (Kartoffelkrieg) in Prussia and Saxony, and in Austria, it was sometimes called Zwetschgenrummel, or the Plum Fuss. For most of the war, the Prussian and Austrian troops maneuvered in Bohemia to secure food-supplies for themselves and deny food to their enemy.
Truth once again, that FACT is stranger than FICTION !! :)
OT: Team Nushi: Here is the link to the GoFundMe page for Nushi. For those who don’t know, “FIP” stands for Feline Infectious Peritonitis. As the name implies, it is a horrible disease, and until very recently, 100% fatal. No animal deserves to die like that. https://www.gofundme.com/help-nushi-beat-fip Please give whatever you can. The treatment is very expensive.
Rhode Island and Connecticut folks—I will be giving a talk on comics and cats July 30th at 4:30 pm at the Ashaway Free Library in Ashaway, RI! Hope to see you there!
I listened to the Hamilton soundtrack for the first time today. It’s freaking brilliant and so smart. Now I can really appreciate what a beautiful, clever job Georgia has done with this arc.

Well, it took an hour of remote work on the tech’s part, but my laptop is working properly again and I am in the right Facebook account.
The skin blemishes on my neighbour’s face are acne scars, not cancer. She noticed them and panicked. Thank you all for your prayers and kind wishes.
Is it just me, or does Elvis have only one eye and no ears today? Puck has finally reached potato salad nirvana, even if only temporarily.

Some of you may remember this song: The Battle of New Orleans
For Independence Day there was a great big bowl
With an amazing salad so refreshing to the soul
It had a little bacon and some mayo there so far,
We made up our minds it was going to be ours!
…….
We made our plan and went to storm the table
But we were outnumbered, it was harder than we thought.
We made a new plan just as fast as we were able
To sneak up on the bowl underneath the tablecloth!
