Hurrah for you, Tiffany. Now don’t wear TJ’s patience too thin.

For the first time in forever, she’s getting what she’s dreaming of.

Luann needs to learn that the “job comes first!”

A lot of things have been said about TJ – most not so nice – but the guy does have drive and motivation to make stuff happen.

Well, closer to s responsible adult, at least. ✨❤️✨

Our perception and reality are not always congruent.

So that is what Tiffany’s eyes look like without makeup.

As Tiff gets pulled by TJ to bus and wait on tables.

And for as happy as TJ is for Tiffany and her epiphany, he’s no doubt thinking “ok that’s wonderful, you feel like a mature adult. now be a mature adult do do your job.”

It’s strange seeing TJ without his creepy rictus grin. He looks like a normal person instead of someone cosplaying as Batman’s arch-nemesis.

Ouch! Here, TJ is being portrayed as the responsible one? More responsible than Tiffany? Now, that’s frightening!

Amazing thought to think of wild-ideas TJ as a responsible adult, but when standing next to and compared to Tiff, Yep!

Tiff really is warming up to Les. He needs to do the right thing at the right moment.

Great Tiff! You got the concept right, now go beat Anne Awful on her own game!

TJ putting his hands on an employee? In what world is THAT acceptable?

It’s like in that Prince song lyric: “Act your age, honey – not your shoe size…” Get a clue, Tiffany.

TJ is in his 20s, why does he look like he has salt and pepper hair?

I would have to think that TJ putting his hands on Tiffany is a management no-no. He can yell at her as much as he thinks he needs to but I’m pretty sure they draw the line at physical contact.

Les has slight smile of approval & understands, considering his experiences w/ Mommy Dearest.

Her first step into a bigger world. A little like man landing on the Moon for the first time.

I am laughing at TJ being responsible and mature. He used to be a goofball!

Ya Tiff, if anything goes wrong you’re responsible.

Awwww… Tiffany is so happy and proud of herself. She feels almost free from Ann and her father. She has grown so much ♡

I wonder if dear Dad and Ann are waiting to be waited on….

TJ is okay, he’s just making a correction in the direction of a very happy friend. Tell the PC cops to stand down, we’re just doing the “cartoons should be fun” thing here.

Okay three times is the charm! I hate taking the time to write these comments only to not see them. This is a panel showing growth in personality. Tiffany realizing that hard work, and responsibility is the price of independence and freedom, TJ being a typical cook/boss/manager in a restaurant, and Les is actually smiling at what Tiffany is telling him. Keep in mind that Les is the same thing himself, working hard, even though he is living in the “gulag.” He is free from Ann, although I think both of them will interact with her going forward. How remains to be seen.

Interesting that Ann Awful has interacted with all three of the characters in the strip. TJ and Les have come out on top with her and now Tiff has too, after a fashion.

Is that Greg’s hidden message today?

Don’t restaurants usually have another employee to do the busing? Seems to me having a waitress do it all would cause a real slowdown in the serving process, never mind the sanitary issues…

Some people grow up and mature, some don’t.

When is Ann Awful going to arrive to try to defeat Tiff’s newfound independence? And will she succeed?

Today is yet another of Greg showing that his characters always will ’revert to norm." Tiff, though evolving, will always be Tiff! ;o)

I going to ask a stupid question is Tiff a airhead!!

Tiff can’t be too fat; TJ’s got a grip around her entire bicep.

There’s a long, work-filled space between feeling like a responsible adult and being one.

Yes, I can see how that will take a while for Tiffany to process. But still, good for her!

That is so millennial.

TJ appears to be “running” K2, the question becomes what all does that entail? Is he also responsible for the kitchen? Does he set the menu, the recipes, what?

“Responsible adult”? (Needs work.)

TJ. If you think you can get better wait staff, cool, hire them. Tiff’s not here for fun, her primary motivation in working is to make cash. Large tips do that. If you want her attitude to chainge on that, pay her more. If you are like most restaurant managers, you are paying your wait staff minimum wage and expecting them to supplement with tips. If you don’t want to deal with a tips hungry staff, hire an independently wealthy waiter. At the very least hire a busboy. Poor management TJ.

Tiffany is eager for some Positive Reinforcement.
