Regarding yesterday’s last panel. Bets didn’t seem to mind that Gunther saw her in her bra and panties. While he was doing his measuring. In fact it seems like she can’t wait for more of the same. LOL

I feel bad for Tiffany reflecting on her changing “needs”. She seems to be handling it well, hopefully….

Well, Now. These three are getting along together smashingly. And Tiffany will stand to make a few bucks to boot.

On the other hand, Gunther COULD take some of Tiffany’s “designer clothes” and “let them OUT a bit” for Tiffany. You know, to fit her more bountiful curves.

That’s provided Bets ALLOWS Gunther to (A-HEM) “measure” her.

But. Bottom line IS, sooner or later, Tiffany is going to HAVE to buy a NEW wardrobe to fit the “new her.” And Please, NO MORE BUSINESS SUITS!

Say. Gunther is a Wiz at sewing. Maybe HE can design some new clothes for Tiffany. Fashionable and sexy. Tiff can come up with the designs. Gunther sews. Bets manages the money. And Scouffle can launch the new Plus Sized line. Are the “Wheels Turning,” yet Kiddies??

You have to love Bets in panel 2!!!

That’d actually be a great storyline (about the plus-sized lingerie line) seeing as how Tiff has the Soufflé owner’s personal cell number and is friendly with her. Also, Gunther making her clothes sounds great as well!

Gunther’s girlfriend appreciates his hobby and it gives them a chance to spend time together, with some mandatory physical contact. Also, she’s smart, into sci-fi and cosplay and likes his friend Tiffany.

This is not unlike the time Brad found out that Toni enjoys working on cars, and that’s worked out well.

If Bets marries Gunther, she can haveth gowns or whatever for life!

How nice it must be to have a boyfriend who sews!!!!

Tiff could always lose weight , but hey, she’s wore them all once already…Can’t be caught wearing the same dress twice, so here ya go!

wow, amazing how Tiff and Bets have become besties. I hope they don’t find a pothole on their road to a good friendship. Gunther is like a 3rd wheel here. I bets they haven’t even noticed him while busy with their girl talk……..

I wonder if Gunther should get out his dancing shoes because it seems that the desirable Bets knows how to “hustle.” More gowns? Not so much, More of other peoples’ stuff to sell? Cha-ching. And, Gunther? Bets will keep him distracted and happy, and the pipeline will keep flowing.

Next week: Bets’ old boyfriend shows up and ties Gunther into a knot with a little purple bag hanging out from one end.

They appear to have split halves on the revenue, meaning Tiff holds twice the cash that went into the gown (since Gunther gets the other fourth).

Twice the amount of a gown’s worth of velvet is enough to pay for Tiff’s dorm rent?

I think those are the ones that work, opposites attract, but without flexibility forget about it.

Looking like Gunther really gonna have his work cut out for him.

Hey i have a idea for this comic strip. How about a contest titled “The Ultimate Luann Fan:”Participants pick 1 arc they liked the best, participants must state why they liked the arc they picked. And the best submission gets to make a future “Luann” comic arc. Just an idea, let me know what ya’ll think.

So, Tiffany’s wardrobe will slowly become smaller while, at the same time, Bets’ wardrobe will become larger. Interesting. Will there also be a personalities swap?

Gunth, you might want to brush up on the work of a cobbler… just in case Bets moves from dresses to shoes.

Get out that measuring tape Gunther! Or maybe come up with a way to laser-scan Bets and digitally store all her measurements. Nah, that’d be more practical but less fun!

Tiff’s “- uh – needs,” don’t require designer clothes to satisfy them. And Gunther, that knave, could already have one papoose in Peru and two more on the way with present company.

Sounds like Tiff is needing a consignment shop. I don’t think Bets can wear Tiff’s classic model sized designer clothes. She appears to be somewhere between Tiff-then and Tiff-now!

Zounds and forsooth, many of ye understandeth notte ye deliberate misuse of pedantry for comic effect.

So is Gunth excited about measuring Bets for more gowns or because he’s excited about measuring Bets some more ;-) LMAO

There are some that think that Tiff’s weight gain was part of her maturity process. Just the opposite! It was, if you remember, an unhealthy response to the depression she felt to her perception of losing her father’s love and attention from his dating someone. The sudden weight gain was a cause of consternation to all and invoked several attempts at interventions; none of which worked.

In the real universe; until Tiff resolves the perceived “abandonment” by her father she will be subject to seeking solace in her chosen method, overeating. Her subsequent rationalizing of her body size as a plus-sized model was just that, rationalization that hasn’t been pursued. The question at hand is whether her “be a mogul” decision is truly a maturation or merely another defense mechanism.

But then HEY! it’s just a comic strip folks!

It’s nice Tiff has accepted her new look. Their conversation sounds like a couple possible businesses in the making. One to convert her wardrobe to cosplay items. Two, with her lingerie contact, design a new line for “real” sized women, and designing everyday clothes to replace Tiff’s skinny clothes. Perhaps a business course class project?

OK. Am I the only one who thinks Betts is a little weird? Does she always play dress-up?

Actually, I don’t mind the mangling of Shakespearean English here. I take into account that Gunther and Bets are kids, or, more accurately, young adults not far removed from having been kids not too long ago. In their case, I wouldn’t expect them to study the evolution of the English language like scholars. They’re doing something that’s fun, and if their use of archaic language is not historically accurate, I think the gist is “it goes something like this”. The way that they use tropes is actually hilarious!

At that age, and in the context of Renaissance Fair enthusiasts (where the difference between the Renaissance and Elizabethan times is fuzzy) , I’d cut them some slack. Most adults in the US have no knowledge of the evolution of the English language either, and assume that the KJV Bible and Shakespere is “Old English”. And have no knowledge of the archaic letter “thorn” which “Ye Olde Crockery Shoppe” comes from, so most people assume it’s pronounced “yee”.

Where is this going?

Tiffany has always been my favorite character, but I wish she’d do something with her hair! Luann and Bernice have gotten stylish updates, so one would think the fashion-centric Tiff would have gone for a beach curl/wavy lob or something else that better suits her a long time ago. Helmet hair is soooo not her!

Yes, this is a major hint to her creators. She should also dress to flatter her curvy figure in her non-work hours, not hide it. But thank you for letting Tiffany grow and evolve. I always knew she had it in her!

PLEASE !!! “Doeth” and or “doth” (both exist) are THIRD PERSON SINGULAR, ! HE (or she, or it) “doth” ..I (and you and we) ALL “do”. Thou “dost”. If you can’t do it right, Greg, don’t do it at all. The fancy font saveth thee not !

Won’t fit her needs? How about her butt? No, I’m not body shaming. I think Tiff looks better with a little more on her frame.

And since Gunther didn’t record Bet’s measurements, he will have to measure all over again.

more bodice fittings, methinks?

I’m on a driving trip so my comments are truncated, but I will say this is all in the positive sense I have been saying. Bets loves Gun(ther), Gun(ther) is delighted with her (I am waiting to see for sure her loves her) and Tiffany is delighted with having a new friend, a happy, funny Gunther, and making money, and it seems that a fruitful business arrangement is going to start. This is really a merging of the arcs I have been postulating; about the characters who have absent or abusive parenting, from Les (abusive and cruel), to Gunther (over smothering) to TIffany (abusive). That is at least my take.

Time for Tiff to do some serious diet-and-exercise plan, so as to meet her, uhh, needs! Otherwise, she’ll have practically nothing left to wear!
