The lack of skills decreases with study and experience, Rat. Only the gifted and the lazy need not strain.

There are no limits to your dreams! And if you bust your piggy butt, and are very lucky, you might just make your dream come true.

To me the idea that a person can do anything he or she puts his mind to is a bunch of bull. Different people have different abilities and while they may be stellar at one thing (like say math) they’re terrible at others (like say, drawing). It’s up to the individual to find a happy medium where his or her natural talents and skills are best used.

No shock there, Rat.

Rat likes to keep people grounded to a 25,000 volt wire.

Reality has its limitations. That’s why I attempt to escape it.

I remember the story of an Chinese Olympic diver who, as a child answered a call for children interested in competitive diving. Only requirement was the ability to swim. She wanted to dive so badly that she sign up up and was one of the first to dive — only then revealing she had never been swimming before and had no idea how. After they fished her out, they decided she had the right desire. So…ability isn’t necessary at the beginning.

It doesn’t take much to keep that dumb Pig grounded.

Reminds me of one of my mother’s favorite sayings – “you can do anything you want to do if you want to do it bad enough.”

So, why is almost EVERYONE in Pearlsland left handed???

Oh, I say there are countless people who have not let their lack of skill stop them or even slow them down. They blunder right on through life, letting the pieces/people fall where they may.

To dream the impossible dream can seriously disturb a good night’s sleep. To fight the unbeatable foe can land you in the hospital. To bear with unbearable sorrow makes you very unpleasant to be around. And to run where the brave dare not go makes you very stupid and probably dead. But they make a good tune. /s

A rat’s got to know his limitations.

I found out that there are limits to what I can do. I have the restraining orders to prove it.

Ignorance can be a problem, too. Though it doesn’t stop everybody, obviously.

The biggest limitation I’m running across is the ravages of old age.

But skill is merely the accumulation of practice. I’m impressed that rat has such a natural growth mindset.
