"You're wrong. Jesus wasn't born on Christmas. I Googled it." "See, a lot of people think Jesus was born sometime in the spring and not winter because it would've been too cold for an outdoorsy birth." "You're missing the point. They may or may not have moved the date, but Jesus' birthday is Christmas. There would be no Christmas without a Jesus." "Methinks a certain jolly fat man with a white beard may beg to differ. Just a hunch though." "How do I know more about this than you?"

Well, Yule would still be observed, Yule is older than Christmas, at least in the North. Maybe more like Samhain/Halloween or Midsommar but still there would be some sort of celebration at the turning of the year.

Interesting point. The Queen’s Birthday, or anyhow the celebrations connected with it, have nothing to do with the actual day on which she was born. And it’s different in different parts of the Commonwealth.
And the Romans really only celebrated the Emperor’s birthday (which I understand is the reason 7th Day Adventists scorn birthday observances.) But the Roman system was that the Emperor’s birthday was commemorated every month.

In America, Wall Street greed is the real reason for the season. Turn on Nickelodeon or Disney and get bombarded with tons of commercials brain washing your children with crap from China they just have to have.
