Mike isn’t losing his hair; he’s just combing it differently.

Mike, feeling small. Nichole always could read him like a book.

Mike doesn’t seem to have any worries in the hair department. Nichole’s clutching at straws, here. Or clutching at straw-coloured hairs! :D

    I’ll get my coat…

Isn’t that one of the point of reunions, to see how badly everyone else has aged? Of course you’re still as good as ever….

Yup. People change, even in your memories. Stay in touch and it won’t be so bad. In the dark the memory wins.

Reunions are always interesting. I went to my high school reunion and several of the people who were geeks or not popular looked great and fit…really come into their own. And a fair number of the most popular people in high school had not aged well at all. Some people who everyone assumed would be successful…weren’t. And some people no one noticed at the time were wildly successful. You never know how people are going to turn out.

It seems Nichole is self-conscientious about her weight. She had her counter-attack ready from the beginning of the conversation.

Nothing wrong with more cuddlier than ever – skinny means bony, and that’s no fun.

It’s not like she’s heavy enough where it would be a problem physically!

Re-reading this past year’s comics makes me wonder how Mike ended up the good guy with the adoring daughter while his wife became the unreliable, talentless crazy mom. Joanie is the only one working right now — like Mike could drive a cab, too — she’s on top of what’s really happening at Alex’s school, and she’s talented enough to someday get a genius grant. All Trudeau does is snidely comment that she only got it because mike nominated her. No — she got it because she showed talent. She was on the nominations list because mike nominated her.

After 50 years I reconnected with my first girlfriend via email. She was out of my league, but I was a couple of years older and had my license. We exchanged photos and YIKES. Things do change. She stopped emailing and that was OK. The reconnection was worthwhile.
