“There’s somethin’ irresistabullish about ‘em, We grin and bear it cause the nights are long, I hope that somethin’ better comes along.” Rowlf the Dog, The Muppet Movie
I am a morning person, with in a minute or so of waking up (5:30 – 6:00) I am up and cheerful. I have been told by a succession of partners that “I am disgusting, go away for at least an hour, and when you do come back, you’d better have coffee!”
If he had not brought coffee, they he would have been taking his life in his hands. I still do not wake my wife up on the weekends. I will make her a cup of coffee and place in her nightstand. That way, I am free to finish the post, since I did get her some.
There is no reason to wake her up. I would never live with a person that rude. She doesn’t have to be anywhere, there is no fire or medical emergency. Let her wake up naturally, that is much better for her.
I grew up in farm country; you were expected to be up with the sun. Hubby is more a city boy, so he tells me when he’d like to be wakened before we go to bed. It works for us and we’re both really happy to be retired and not need the alarm clock sending us off to work before morning rush hour.
Not being married I cannot say for certain, but from my own take on it he should have let Janis sleep as long as she needs unless she specified otherwise.

I think the version depends on the behaviour.

How rude, Arlo. After last night’s activities Janis needs her sleep.

If I did that to my wife it would be the first step in our divorce proceedings.

Try serving breakfast in bed – it’s a lot better. And she can always nap

She should be grateful for her husband. Many women don’t have nice husbands.

Does anyone else reread her comment, with different emphasis each time…and wonder which is intended?

Until she needs to open a jar.
