By the time they get to the girls, they figure they’re a mirage too.

If Thor drank some of the juice from the cactus, his mirage’s would be more meaningful and he’d be floating away.

You need a cheesy recording of “Turkey in the Straw” playing at unreasonably loud levels in order to attract customers .. that’s how ice cream treat vendors do it.

It’s patterning 101 for humans. Have a person perform a two similar actions twice and the third time will become automatic. Commuter turns left twice at the same corner, third time the act barely registers in his/her conscious. Show child how to put pants on standing up with left leg first, and the pattern is set for life. Ad infinitum.

Those would be hallucinations rather than mirages, which are reflections of real things. Mirage water is a reflection of the sky. Many years ago we were driving on I-8 in Southern Arizona toward San Diego when we saw a large mesa ahead. As we approached we could see it had an hourglass shape, and the closer we got the smaller the waist got until it separated into two objects. It was a hill with a mirage in the still air above it. Spooky!

Giving up just before success. How many have done that over the centuries?
