As a female, I found it hard to come up with a name that I had no association with (read: never dated anyone with that name). I came up with “Lars”. That was 37 years ago and I still love his name.
One more thing. Still thinking about bringing back e-mail Monday? Some of those e-mails from 2001 were pretty weird, but I did like some of the strips from October of that year.
Just talk into consideration possible nicknames that may seem silly when grown, or on the business card. There is always Lennie (her maiden name) Peterson or your and her father’s name. It honors both of you.
Lennie – glad you liked my comment. Add to the list of what not to name – unique spellings especially phonetic, and made-up names that are impossible to spell or pronounce.
I’m getting the feeling this new addition isn’t a baby at all…more like a small dog (one that might look cute in clothing, like a yorkie) since she already knows the gender and the name…and who names a baby Homeslice?
Whatever name you choose, remember how it will be used (and misused) by his schoolmates. Also remember the effect of the initials. Naming your son Samuels Oliver Brown could lead to major problems.
….and always be mindful of the nicknames or rhyming insults that might come with a particular name. Example: Augustus: Augie. Augie-Doggie. Kids are so cruel….

Yes, “Homeslice” is ridiculous, as are all the names you came up with.
