“Lee” must be Lee Salem, famous comics editor and syndicate executive. He died Sep. 2, so I suppose the delay is due to Sunday comics lead-times.

There are two advantages of this method of creating a jack-o-lantern: The pumpkin will last longer, and it’s a lot less messy.
