Cats from around town have mobilized to try and protect their clueless People from the threat of imminent death. CN is providing around the clock coverage of their desperate efforts to avert disaster. And, as reporter Elvis has said, “The moment of truth has arrived.”
Saw the running group last night … didn’t go out with them, obviously, but timed my trip to Target to meet up with them before they went out. Yesterday was a preliminary hearing for Andrea’s assailant (best word I can think of at the moment) so nothing really changed. Andrea gets to go back to her rehab, our fellow group member Tom got the afternoon off from work (he was supposed to testify as a witness), and the driver gets to go home and continue pretending he is honoring the suspension of his license.
On this end, the back actually feels – dare I say it? – quite good this morning. Yesterday’s injections were done on the right side of the spine, and I will get the left side done on Monday afternoon. First, though, I have another appointment on Monday morning: finally broke down and called the ortho about my shoulder.
The crushed houses only happen when the leaves are still on the trees and then you get a freak snowstorm with two feet of wet, heavy snow causing huge limbs and sometimes whole trees to come crashing down. Like Western New York’s Aphid storm of 2006 which I lived thru.
The leaf control committee is hard at work to save us from the danger of falling leaves. They should consult with my upstairs neighbour who, as I mentioned above, vacuums the parking lot. Yesterday, he was also vacuuming part of the lawn yesterday.
Hello Orbsters! Today is our very own Sophie, Tommy and Bandit’s 1st Birthday! Or at least what our vet thought it might be. Soph and Tommy (the ginger) are namesakes from BCN, and Miss B just has that face that begged for her name. They are such sweet kitties! They are all rather petite, and look bigger because of their long fluffy hair. If you’d like, follow my public facebook link to see my birthday post about them that I shared today. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10157626702722767&set=a.10151480939312767&type=3&theater

Still the leaves kept pourin’
Fallin’ on my eaves
And I wonder, still I wonder
Who’ll stop the leaves?

If you can’t stop the leaves, can you guide them into neat piles?

I just wait for spring, and darn if those leaves don’t find their way back where they belong all by themselves.

Aha, I see the plan! Scare those leaves away from your houses, brave cats!

No, you can’t stop the leaves. The hideous fate of being crushed in your houses awaits you all.

And since we are on the topic of seasonal change, here is a much-loved Australian poem about it.

Rain Drops Keep Falling on My Head, sung by B.J. Thomas
Autumn leaves keep falling on the ground,
And we all worry will a solution be found?
What if they land on roofs?
You know, autumn leaves keep falling,
All around they keep falling,
So I did my research and made a chart,
And showed it to a cat who’s brave with a kind heart
He said do not fear,
Those autumn leaves may keep falling
On the ground and the rooftops,
But there’s one thing I know
All throughout the city
A team of kitties
Will band together and fight the leaves
And show no pity!
Oh, autumn leaves keep falling all around
But that doesn’t mean the roofs will be falling to the ground,
We will not give up, ’cause
We’ll keep on fighting, we will win what we’re fighting,
Because the cats,
All know how to deal with that!
