Heard the sled dog comment in a Jeff Foxworthy routine. Still funny and similar to the one about being first mule in a team. Like the old saw says: if you’re not the solution, you most likely are the problem.
http://www.gocomics.com/frazz/2019/11/17Maybe it’s a regional thing, or maybe I just didn’t get out much, but I first became familiar with the phrase “breaking wind” in the bicycle racing context. It took me a while to figure out what all the smirking was about. And I still don’t really get it. Farting doesn’t seem so heinous that it needs an elaborate euphemism, especially one that sounds almost like some kind of sports injury.

Unless you’re the lead sled dog, the view never changes AND you get broken wind.

How about “Don’t consider it breaking wind, realize you’re blazing a trail!”
Which still sounds awkward. Nice job Jef.

On the tundra there is no lead dog, its a fantail configuration. Inline is for where there are trees.

But with the dog it’s the same as the biker. It takes more energy to break fresh snow.

All the same, I’d buy that kid’s plaque.

So many uptight American and those with glass psyches are bothered by its very mention. Think it is the worse thing since flogging.

Thanks so much, Jef, for yet another poot joke. Bleah. And no, her new mottoe doesn’t make sense. The lead dog IS breaking the wind resistance.
