Deanna: We'll have to take two cars, because you have to take Jack to his game before Katie's game is over. Oh, and don't forget Bailey's present. They're going to have his birthday party after the game. Speaking of birthday parties, Katie's been invited to Laura's party tomorrow at 3:00. We'll have to run to get her a gift this afternoon. Gary: 3:00? Good, that won't conflict with Jack's makeup game at 1:00. Deanna: Remember when we had weekends? Gary: Yeah. Deanna: Getting all those honey-do projects done... Jack: Napping on the couch, and watching games on the tube...

Kids are waaaay overscheduled. One of my daughters and her husband have 3 boys, they spend their weekends rushing around to be at their kids different organized leagues. Different sports. Oldest is baseball, middle boy is into playing league video games(no kidding- One HS in the Tulsa area formed an eGames team and is part of a HS league) youngest is playing football. So going in 3 different directions every weekend. And what about away games?

Jack and Katie may be over scheduled, but it is good for them. Going to parties and sports practice helps them develop their respective social skills and circles. Plus, Gary and Deena have great friends in the form of the other parents.
