oh, Aunt Toni working an odd job because the fire department hasn’t had any fires (yet)?

This must be the reason my local fire department is constantly calling me to ask for monetary donations for the firefighters.

Looks like Luann and Shannon didn’t know about Toni’s moonlighting. Toni’s gonna be so busted. Wonder where Brad is moonlighting at?

Oh this ought to be good. As soon as Shannon sees Toni, she’s gonna know the Santa is fake, especially if it turns out to be Bwad..

So either Shannon is gonna become distrustful of the one positive male figure in her life or she’s gonna go along with it, knowing Bwad is a fake because she loves her Bwad

Or Jack knows who’s Santa’s helper is goes over kisses her and introduces Luann to his new girlfriend Toni.

And here I was just thinking the other day, that THIS would be a golden opportunity for Brad and Toni to spend some UNINTERRUPTED alone time together, (with Luann watching the kid) ON STRIP! And wouldn’t you know that at least one (and maybe BOTH) spouses are WORKING?

I SWEAR, the Good Guys in this Strip can’t get a break for love of money!

Oh Oh! Christmas comic coming, Toni the elf, Bwad the Santa, Luann and Jack, the future together? Geez, Gunther and Bets, hmmm what does it all mean?

So Luann is watching Shannon because Toni and Brad had other plans. Why didn’t T and B tell Luann what those plans were. This is going to be awkward.

Ruh Roh!!

Might not be a great idea, because if that’s Brad as Santa, Shannon will 1. recognize him right away and 2. YELL out that she knows it’s Brad and ruin it for the other kids.

Toni’s the elf, Brad’s the Santa? Volunteering through the fire department? Or getting paid to save for their dream house? Probably didn’t tell Shannon what they were doing, because she’d recognize them? What a plot!

So Toni did not tell Luann what they were doing, or did Luann have a memory lapse?

Okay, so maybe Luann convinces Shannon to play along with the marvelous game?

How is it possible that Luann is watching Shannon and Toni didn’t mention that shannon needed to be watched because she and brad were playing Santa Claus and an elf?

So I’m thinking that Toni wants kids.

Perhaps the children are under privileged and Toni is handing out vouchers for them to give Santa and receive a toy?

Maybe he is not the original, but for sure he’s the best Santa for Shannon♡. Love the fact that Toni and Brad special Christmas duty is become a tradition. Can’t wait to see what Brad and (especially)Toni will think about Jack.

Interesting, we get to see how Toni (at a minimum) greets Jack (Luann, who is this? Luann, this is Jack? Jack, didn’t know you know my sister-in-law. Jack, great to see you again!). The best part will be if a response is required from Luann. No matter a few people might have to shift to my style of coffee. Speaking of such, about time for bao, gravy, and some bacon. This week had been feeling like filler; thank goodness for the unexpected twist! Of course, it says something about the dullness of the strip’s titular character when the excitement only comes by bringing in someone else.

All Police and Fire Department Personnel always volunteer for the Holidays. Thank God we have them.

I don’t think Jack has met Brad or Toni. Wouldn’t it be funny if Jack Hit on Toni? After all, he did something similar at the dog park with Luann present. She’s a little older that him, but an exceptional quarry. :o)

Then Brad takes offense and the Mall is rocked with a Santa brawl. Sigh. Oh well. Nothing ever happens at Christmas. ;o)

How dumb can these guys be? Luann is babysitting Shannon BECAUSE Brad and Toni are doing this. Sheesh.

Jack and Luann are so cute together! Comfortable, having fun. Sometimes that’s better than a boyfriend.

Also, this just might be Brad and Toni’s day off. Good for them for volunteering perhaps.

Most firehouses use a 24 hour on 48 hour off shift system. Which leaves plenty of time for gig type work.

Shannon gets passed around like a baton in a relay race. This time, I think Toni is participating in a benefit for the local kids sponsored by the fire department.

I don’t get her logic, wouldn’t she still want her wishes to be relayed to Santa via one of his helpers? Plus Santa doesn’t make the presents, his elf army does it.

So BWAD will be Santa.

Can’t wait till Shannon grows up….

A very sophisticated 6 year old. Should we ask if it’s Santa? “He won’t tell you.”

Brad and Toni need the money after paying the cost of the room addition.

Tell her the truth. Santa does not make the toys. Uses a slave army of elves to make them on the cheap. Though there are rumours of outsourcing.

1212 was right. A kid’s innocent mispronunciation of your name can be very endearing. Both an earworm and a term of endearment.

As long as we know it wasn’t meant in meanness or to be demeaning.

It may be a good idea to consider that younger kids my be reading this ‘comic’….not just sarcastic adults.

I was my town Lighted Christmas Parade 2 years in a row! Loved it! The look of wonder and love in the little kids eyes was soul melting!
