There’s an old Asimov story called ‘The Machine That Won The War.’ The President, the Chief Spy and the Top Programmer are talking about how their Supercomputer won the War. Everyone thinks that Earth won because we’d done everything Multivac told us to do. Only a machine could make all the choices that the space war needed.
The Programmer says that he had to put in a lot of fudged data, because he couldn’t trust what he was being told. It was his fudged data that really won the war.
The Spy says that he didn’t believe the data he was getting from Multivac, so he changed ti again, and used his own instincts, so he was the one who saved everyone.
The President listens to them and them smiles.
He told them that he couldn’t bring himself to make most of the choices offered him, because the War was so huge, on so many planets with so many troops and ships, that he couldn’t begin to understand it.
He pulls out an ancient coin from his pocket and flips it.

That’s a remarkably good deal, considering there’s what, ~2.5 billion women of marriageable age? That’s the top 0.00015%!
