Another wonderful scene from Georgia! Wanted to share a scene from my home that reminded me of an earlier scene done by her. Four kittens launching themselves at a curtain and climbing it. Some could make it to the ceiling at 7’ (basement), and then climbed backward til they could safely drop. They loved doing this! But it was a temporary thing pinned up to make a smaller space and eventally unpinned itself.
OT: The kittens, born from stray/feral young mommy cat (in my basement), are old enough to adopt and have an appt. to go to humane society coming up. Its not in best interest to keep six kittens and mommy when I have two fifteen year old cats already. I am back and forth on keeping mommy cat and maybe one kitten. The older and younger cats have not been integrated as mommy has been showing aggresiveness, and everyone needs shots and such, so it seemed safest to keep them separate until most/all kitties go, then I can concentrate on just mommy with my original cats. I am looking for advice from people who have fostered cats/kitties on what they’ve experienced. thank you!
I make my own greeting cards. I have an assembly line. Cut the cardstock, stamp, embossing powder, punch the corners with a suitable pattern, fill out inside, place in envelope, address add postage. Bam! Done!
According to the “Twelve Pains of Christmas,” this is the fourth thing that’s such a pain to me. I bet Lupin would have fun “helping” with day number two – rigging up the lights.
Now that the cocoa is more easily accessible, are you going to do anything about it Puck? Or maybe as an envelope glue chaser, Lupin? Elvis, I’m not sure you can overcome your stamp problem, but if the Woman and/or Toddler helps, maybe you can get in a nip as well.
(Yes, I know chocolate is bad for cats, but the image of kitties who by means of living in a comic strip can’t be hurt by drinking it doing so just appeals.)
OT – It’s a true Aussie Christmas! Robin keeps telling us about the wildlife there and it’s true. This woman is going to have to change the lyrics from now on to “And a python in a tree.”
sigh all this is reminding me that I haven’t done mine this year. Not that my list is long. But Turkeyday was late, the house had some repairs that I was pulling hair to schedule, and then travel for work, and and and . . .
We have installed a new cat toy. Perhaps the BCN crew would benefit.
The toy is the same size and shape as a Christmas tree. At various locations on the toy are found Objects Of High Interest (OOHI’s) designed to test and reward feline athleticism and inventiveness. The objects bear a striking resemblance to the most study subset of ordinary Christmas tree ornaments.
So far, the servants have proven willing and able to reset Objects as they happen to found found in various locations around the house.
Dear Orb,I would greatly appreciate it if you could send some good vibes, hugs, purrs, prayers, nose boops, head butts, and any other good things towards my mother. Yesterday she had to make the very difficult decision to take her friend of 18 years, Little Runt, to be put to sleep. She was 19 years old. Little Runt had developed some thyroid issues, but seemed to do ok on some meds for it. Then, she started losing weight even though she was eating a prescription wet food 6 times a day, and waking my mother 2 and 3 times a night to eat. She started drinking a ton of water as well. The vet gave the diagnosis of diabetes, and Little Runt, despite eating quite a bit, had gone from 8 pounds to 5. She had other ailments, but the daily insulin injections was something my mother was not willing to put her beloved friend through. I know this was very hard for her. So please, just keep her in your thoughts. It would mean a lot to me, and to her. Little Runt was such an amazing cat, and loved everyone.
People, please send cards! They are treasures. I always saved the latest cards I received. I have the last card sent by my mother, father, sister, brother, grandmothers, aunts, and several close friends, all now deceased (my last relative died when I was 58). I pull them out of the drawer every Christmas and remember them and have a good laugh over some silly Christmas memory and shed a tear over the loss.

Oh dear. Cocoa stains on the festive candy cane tablecloth. The Boys will just have to lounge around on top of the table to cover those up.
