True story time. My first paycheck job was a department store gig at Christmas time. One day I was in the toy department and had to listen to the same album play all day without a break. I couldn’t listen to Christmas music for the next 20 years.
I liked “Jingle Bell Rock” when it first came out (by Brenda Lee). Now when I hear it – by anyone – it does bad things to my brain. Still like Brenda Lee though.
There’s nothing like trying to eat your Tex-Mex meal while José Feliciano’s "I wanna wish you a “Merry Christmas – Feliz Navidad” is played on the jukebox by practically every new customer that comes through the door.

Which is an entirely different song Monty.. and you don’t know “Jingle Bells”??
I’d have gone with getting tripped up on the lyrics to the ‘Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg’ version…

I knew a guy who grew up thinking it was, “One whore, soap, and sleigh”. Explains a lot about him, come to think of it.

That Hall & Oates video is painful to watch. They said interviews they regret doing it and it embarrasses them.

I find it funny that “Jingle Bells” is one of the most popular Christmas songs, despite never mentioning Christmas anywhere.

I can relate; I’ve had trouble with my imagination ever since I heard “…Dawn we now our gay apparel”…

Yuck! Poor Monty, with such a depressing childhood. It does help to explain his grown-up self, though….
