Twig says, "Cut at a 45 degree angle just above an out-facing bud." Agatha says ,"Check!" Twig says, "Clip to open the center of the plant." Agatha says, "Check!" Agatha says, "Anything else?" Twig says, "Just this..." Twig says, "Absolutely only prune in the early spring." Agatha says ,"November: Very early spring."

I always prune roses in the late fall when the sap is not running.

OK to prune Rose bushes in Fall. Best time to prune trees when dormant in Winter.

Any time they’re dormant. If it doesn’t freeze where you live go for the time they look the worst.
