It works if you’re going on a long trip and you don’t want to put all the mileage on your own car. That’s the only scenario I can come up with this early in the morning.
If everyone had free use of a car when they wanted, would there still be a service called public transportation? Actually, if we had followed the original idea for development of public transportation to its ultimate goal, there would be a lot more of it and way fewer cars.
I have two libraries in easy walking distance, and quite a few more in serious walking distance. And abundant public transportation that comes frequently.
Doesn’t mean one can’t have a car; the library (carary?) just gives more choice. Same way many of us buy books and use our libraries. The more, the better!
We were just pondering something like this yesterday. My friend (a truck driver) said maybe its a good thing they’re looking at self driving cars, especially because of all the distracted drivers there are lately. I (a former truck driver) agreed, then piped up with …“wait, we have that now; it’s called public transportation”
It’s not that the answer is so often right in front of us and we’ve been missing it all along. That’s not what’s embarrassing. What’s embarrassing is that we’ve probably been missing it because, well, we kinda want to.

They sold off the YUGOs at the library fair. It was yours for $50 if you could get it to start. You couldn’t buy one and leave it there.

You can get E-books on your computer, why not E-cars?

Cars are important. Without a car, you couldn’t get to the gym to exercise.

“Wait.” That’s the only thing guaranteed with public transportation.
