Since the quarantining began, I’ve been watching all the old Gunsmoke episodes. There were 635 of them, so I’ve not seen them all yet. They are on MeTV and INSP channels.
I don’t believe in “binge-watching” There are so many other things to do. I will watch one episode a night, unless it’s a 2-parter. I’m currently into “This Is Us”; last night I watched the last episode of season 1. One down; 3 to go!
If each season has 21 episodes, and each episode takes 25 minutes to watch, then it would take 11 days, 7 hours and 15 minutes to binge watch every episode of the Simpsons. Maybe that’s what they’re watching.
This is surprisingly timely for something that was probably made at least a few months ago.
As for me, I burned out on binge watching a few weeks ago after watching every episode of Penny Dreadful to prepare for the upcoming spinoff series. I’ll stick to movies and weekly episodes of television series for the time being.
If I was going to binge watch it would be all the seasons Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from the 80s/90s, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond and The King of Queens
I still have to work, so no binge watching for me. I do have several hours of NOVA and several more hours of NATURE recorded, along with a few favorite TV programs to catch up on. With my 5 1/2 YO, I just don’t have the time to sit in front of the TV. Many more important things to do with him. Currently working on penmanship and learning to write Cyrillic.
The I just finished binge watching (2-3 episodes per evening) “The Crown.” I am not a fan of celebrities or royalty but that show hooked me for some reason. If I had any negative feelings about the Monarchy it would be that it is too cruel to those involved.
My husband heard that there was a James Bond movie festival on one of the channels so I did a search and found a never before heard of channel playing the movies. I offered to tape them but he said he’d do it. About 10, he said he was going to turn it off when the current movie ended. I have no idea when he went to bed but I pointed out the idea of recording the movies was to stop them and watch the next day. He seems to have time to watch today too.
I rewatched Designated Survivor, has great cliff hangers, must see next episode immediately and so on. CAN’T believe when it was first on TV we had to wait an entire week to see next episode
Jon Arbuckle gives a perfect example of what happens when you binge-watch and not take a shower for a week. You become a neanderthal caveman. #nasty #takeashower :-(
♫ Binge-watchin’ / No disruption / TV is calling me again / I should shave my facial hair / But I ain’t getting up / I’m sitting here / I want to shout “kapow” / I want to see how the show ends now ♫ #tobykeith :-)
Jon still didn’t age, his facial hair just grew because he didn’t shave like usual. Still, what is with Jon’s aging problem? Did Peter Pan sprinkle pixie dust on Jon while he was an adult?

If they were bingeing on programs of the ’50s there were often 40 or more shows per season. The first season of “The Lone Ranger” ran to 52.

Why would anyone want to binge-watch something they weren’t interested in watching in the first place?
