That attitude is sad and more than a little ADD. I am not going all Pollyanna and say I can always say there is nothing I would rather be doing, but sometimes I am doing the exact activity that I want to do and would not choose to stop to do something else. To say I’d rather be doing something else is a common state is the greener grass fallacy.
In French we have an expression : “faire oeuvre utile”. Litterally, to do useful labour. Meaning get busy doing something that makes you feel useful and that helps your fellow human, if you are fortunate enough to be in that position. Win-win…

But I didn’t really predict my strip about doing nothing would come out the day after so many people in so many places were told to change a lot of their plans from doing whatever they were going to be doing to not doing it.Somehow I think a lot of anything anybody did in advance is going to look a little off for a while.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say “I’d rather be doing nothing.” Not very common at all.
