Grew up with one of those. Back under the stairs was where the Christmas decorations were stored, but everything in front had to come out first.

And the question then is “safe for what?”

WHAT is in the box? Did Arlo get something new or is he moving it from another closet or garage or basement? Ludwig should be around…Curiosity…..

Our only child is a millennial (but he’s always been a hard-working, employed millennial), and he’s a minimalist.

I hate to think what he will say about us after we are both gone, and he’s the one who will have to take care of all the junk we’ve accumulated over the years.

I had a similar hall closet. It wasn’t junky, but it was FULL of coats, and blankets. During a tornado (it was the most secure location in the house), I emptied that closet in 30 seconds , and it took me three weeks to get everything back in it!

On a completely different, off-topic subject:

Over the past few days, my Internet connection has been slowing, and some programs pause or stop altogether.

I heard that this might happen due to so many people who are “sheltering in place.” Anyone else whose Internet connection is becoming unresponsive?

(By the way, is “shelter in place” another term for “under house arrest”? Just wondering.)

That’s right. When a tornado comes all your stuff is safe and room for Janis. Arlo, get behind the couch.
