Don’t remember which episode it was, but I’m reminded of a MASH episode where Frank Burns was awarded a Purple Heart for a shell fragment only for Hawkeye to remind him that it was an eggshell fragment…

He got a purple heart for getting a purple heart?! Too meta.

I know a Marine that got a purple heart from stepping on broken glass barefoot while washing the commander’s car.

I honor the purple heart, but I’m sure that the poor mug wearing it would rather not have earned it. Very little on a soldier or sailors chest got there easily. The purple heart least of all.
