My #2 sister was cat-sitting for her MIL. One cat was very picky and only ate one flavor of one kind of cat food. I had to feed their clowder one long weekend and there was no ‘special’ food. So, picky cat went hungry … one day. First in line the next.
When you adopt a dog it thinks “wow, this hooman feeds me gives me a place to sleep, takes care of me, he must be God.” When you adopt a cat he thinks “wow, this human feeds me, gives me a place to sleep, takes care of me, I must be God.”
Order whatever you need from most grocery stores on line, pay on line, then drive through the pickup line, have them put it in your trunk, and leave it there for a week before you bring it in the house. If you absolutely must use it before that, use plastic gloves to handle the container, dump the contents in a clean container and throw the containers and gloves away.
I’m on disability and today was payday, just in time since my fridge is almost as empty as Mother Hubbard’s cupboard. I have the largest order I ever placed lined up and ready to go and a friend ready to pick it up for me (although she tells me that the stores are so empty right now that I may only get half the items on my order list) . The main problem right now is that I couldn’t finish my order until today when I actually had the money in my account, and when I went online to complete the order the only days available were today and tomorrow, and all the time slots were already filled for both pickup and delivery. I spent 2 hours on hold until I was finally able to talk to someone and all she told me was that all I could do is sit on the site and keep refreshing it until more time slots became available. I almost feel like an eBay snipper waiting for the last (or first) second to snatch a time slot.

You can’t be surprised, Arlo. You’ve had a cat for a long time.

Hard to impress someone with gourmet cooking when they have take out (of the can) taste.

One of China’s less advertised steps to fight the virus included killing off many pets and animals. That wouldn’t go off so well in the US.

Just don’t feed the damn thing for a week or two and all the pickiness will magically disappear.

Have you tried smearing that concoction all over the cats body so it would have to lick it all off? (If you could survive it.) ☺

Preaching to the choir. I live to serve my cat, but she is my faithful companion these days.

Thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as Gods. Cats have never forgotten this.

Having that discussion at our house…luckily pet food stores are offering curb service and/or delivery.
