me neither – except for those twitter idiots, facbook posters, redditt dummies, political hacks, MSM talking heads, social justice warriors, all activists, instagram pictures, and that old guy that looks at me in the mirror. OH YEAH – and all those people that get triggered! jk :)
The current occupant of the Oval Office has not changed one bit since the time he came down the escalator to announce his candidacy. His behavior, his motivations, his personality—they’ve all been on full display for nearly four years. If you’re still outraged, that’s more you than him now.
Not that I’m defending him. Far from it: I disagree with nearly all of his decisions and actions (The Animal Cruelty & Violence Intervention Act of 2019 being a notable exception). However outrage, while an expected reaction to his behavior, is not a helpful reaction: outrage has not caused him to change his behavior (in fact, it delights his “base”); outrage doesn’t advance the debate on how to solve the country’s problems; outrage doesn’t do anything except keep everyone divided so that you can’t get together even on problems you all agree on, such as infrastructure.
You have always had only three ways to deal with a president you don’t like: 1) The 25th Amendment, 2) Impeachment, 3) The ballot box in November. If you’re not working towards one of those solutions, then your “outrage” is a waste of time and energy.
