Out here in the high desert, we have had much welcomed RAIN, and the longer the blue sky holds off the better. Those dog days of summer will be here soon enough.
A while back I lived in Tacoma for a few years and one of the constant complaints I would hear was that is was so grey and depressing all the time.
Now it wasn’t nearly as bad as folks make it out to be and I occasionally felt compelled to point out to the whiners that if they wanted to see the sun that badly all they needed to do was head up Mount Rainier and there would be plenty of sunshine toward the top.
Sure, sure, just when everybody was feeling all mellow, somebody had to go and bring up the blues and the grays, and here comes all that nasty recrimination about the Civil War all over again.

I’m reminded of the Beatles’ movie Yellow Submarine. I always liked the response “That’s funny. You don’t look Bluish!”

I think Mrs. Olsen asks a good question. It sounds like one of Caulfield’s.

Don’t complain Mrs. Olsen. We’re supposed to get up to a foot of snow here tonight in Maine.

Here we see a patch of blue, then rainy gray, then blue, then rainy gray. If I saw a suit like that I’d get 2 pair of pants.

I don’t find it dismal, I find rain refreshing.
