It’s true: when cats reach up with a paw, they do look like they are trying to “high five”. Georgia is so good at noticing the nuances of cat behavior!
You ever get the cat maneuver where they don’t so much walk in front of you as you type, but sideswipe your face like feline demolition derby – so very helpful (especially if you wear glasses)…
I made the mistake of closing my office door. People on the call told me that I could take a moment to tend to my crying baby. They cracked up when they found out it was one of my cats.
In panel four, the Man looks stressed. It’s a well known scientific fact that petting cats helps relieve stress. The Man needs to pet Lupin immediately.
My partner made the mistake of showing bird and mouse videos on YouTube to our two cats. Now he can’t get on the computer without a cat sitting patiently on the desktop, staring at the screen, waiting for the video clip to start. It’s got to the point where the big male will stare at anything we do on the screen, even just typing.
I was once on a conference call. A cat who will not be named was kn my lap purring and meowing for attention. “Will the person with the cat pease mute your phone!” I complied at once.
Yum Yum seems to know when I am doing something important on my laptop and tries to give me all sorts of positive reinforcement.
DEFINITELY OFF TOPIC – PAUL:
My brother-in-law drove us to the doctor yesterday, and was allowed to come in with us. The upshot is that Paul has been admitted to hospital. Last I heard yesterday evening, they were drawing blood and getting ready to set up an IV for hydration. He’s due for a CT scan. I’m supposed to hear from our family doctor today as to whether or not he’s had a CT scan yet. Dear orbsters, please let me know if you wish further news.
So is the ‘tapping’ in the first panel from the man or Lupin? The first time I read it I thought it was from Lupin tapping the man’s face. Next read it dawned on me it was from the man working. Either way … I love it. I feel the Man’s pain.
Yesterday Mac was helping me by sleeping between me and my keyboard. It wouldn’t be so bad, but it does make it a bit hard to type at times and sometimes he stretches onto the keyboard. He was pretty insistent on sleeping there even when I tried to show him different places to sleep. Right now though he is laying with his sister PC on the blanket next to me.
Today is Kingergarten Day—except that no one is there. When I was that age, kindergarten was basically structured play, getting children used to the school environment while teaching very basic concepts. I hated it, except for milk and cookies. I was bored, there was no outlet for my burgeoning imagination. Imagination isn’t real, and therefore is useless. DEAD WRONG. It is the most useful tool a scientist can have. That I was what some called “brilliant” as a scientist was because “they” hadn’t managed to kill my imagination.
So if any of you have children, or grandchildren, encourage their imagination as well as studiousness. “Imagine seven impossible things before breakfast” is a recipe for genius and true creativity.
OT. The Big Gray Kitty went to the vet yesterday as I was concerned over a few things. Vet said overall for a 14 year old he was in pretty good shape. Waiting today to see if Diabetes or Thyroid problems. Praying for neither and that I am just an over protective cat mom…
Good morning, everyone! Just a reminder, I’m having a story time this afternoon, if you’d like to virtually attend! <3 Join me on our YouTube channel live today at 4pm Pacific Time/7pm Eastern time! https://m.youtube.com/channel/UConVUemvpqRjmkjKVVwSicA I will read 2-3 stories from my latest book “Take It Away, Tommy!”
I have started to make sure I lock the keyboard the instant I get a desktop-visit from my “new Supervisor”. She has deleted, typed, closed, saved over, and in general messed up just about anything she could have… We’ve all had Sups like that, right?
I cannot like this strip enough. I had to put 2 (TWO!) cat beds (well, a cat bed and a box with a towel in it) on my desk to accommodate/occupy my 2 new furry co-workers when I got sent home to Work From Home. Thank goodness I have an old fashion ginormous desk – plenty of room for me and the co-workers to “work”.
Tika often acts like this when I’m lying in bed. She’ll lay on top of me, purring, and pat my face to get me to pet her. Yes, I’m well trained. Every time she pats my face, I pet her.
Thanks to everyone that responded to my non-stimulus anxiety. I feel better after reading your comments. I must be patient because I’m dealing with the government.
My cat keep jumping up on my keyboard. I give him all the attention of the world beforehand but nooo he wants me to go over and sit on the couch and watch TV so he can sit next to me. I suppose I should be flattered.
