there’s a minus side to having a transporter, Andy: Flo’ll come after you and transport you back home

Two words: “Transporter malfunction”. It happened plenty of times in the original series and in the Next Generation, thanks to bad writing.

The transporter was a cheaper special effect than taking a shuttlecraft.

Teleportation would be very welcome right now. I would love to teleport to North Carolina and visit my (distant) cousin whom I discovered on AncestryDNA and meet her horses and 2 German Shepherds.

If a Coronavirus vaccine is made then I think it should be reserved for people in the higher risk and vulnerable categories. I am neither. I don’t like shots much to begin with. When I was at school, I brought home a letter about HPV vaccinations for girls and my Mum made me have them.

When I had my 3rd “dose” I had some mild confusion because I recall asking my Mum if it’s possible for a grandparent to be younger than you. True story. This was a short while after having the shot.

That might not have been a side effect though, it could have just been my own stupidity all by itself.

I would rather have someone on the Next Generation Enterprise beam me up.

Not a huge fan, but I did enjoy watching reruns of the original Star Trek with my Dad back in the day.

Besides being a quick way to get into a story, the transporter has been a great jumping off point for many Star Trek stories.

I wonder what they’re watching, because the exact phrase “Beam me up, Scotty” was never spoken in Star Trek.
