Okay, folks. Since we’re away from Sunday Funday (although we’ve passed Monday too and many may regard Mondays as sorrowful in normal times), here’s the Clementine song for the current times : It’s very sorrowful, so keep away if you don’t want sorrowful things!
I tried the pie joke on my son. He threw a cushion at me. Then he announced his intention of inflicting it on everyone he knew. Why should he be the only one to suffer?
Hey, is it just me or is anybody else missing the like (heart) button and other buttons that are usually on the right side of the comic? I checked all the other comics I read and none of them have those buttons today.
OT: Yesterday’s comments included a request for an update on my two adoptees.
Toothless Nikki is really coming out of her shell. She moves around the house and may be found on the windowsill or sleeping on chairs. She and oldster BladeRunner make token hisses at each other now and then, but she seems to actually like to be near him. She has an unfortunate tendency to yark a lot, and sometimes it’s all her food, but usually it’s just a lot of fur and clear fluid. For the last few days I’ve been able to give her a good combing, and I hoped that would help with the furball situation, especially considering I got a full size cat out of her the first two times, but it’s ongoing. I’m thinking I should give her half as much food, twice as often, because of the times it’s a big pile of softened kibble.
I’m a little more worried about tripod Peppy, because she is almost always hiding in a corner. But my partner says she comes out more at night, and that he saw her playing in the kitchen after I went to bed yesterday. I think she just needs a little more time.
Good news is that everybody seems to be using the main litterbox with no problems, and the library litterbox was used the other day for the first time since Maple died, though I don’t know by whom. And the litterbox in the puzzle room has been used also. But that could be Blade.
Angoria: I wonder if Chaser-Kitt has written a papyrus to me. I haven’t heard from him since our picanic.
Checks in Papyrus Box
Angoria: Nothing! Has my love forgotten about me?
(Background Music: Dunn, Dunn, Dunn)
Serfig-Aro: Has Chaser-Kitt forgotten Angoria? Will Fallingflake learn there is more to life than everything? Return for the next episode of It’s a Wonderful Nine Lives! And eat Nom Nom Spider treats!
Puckmosis: Oh, where is the Papyrus Cat?
Elvis-Anum: The Papyrus Cat is a myth. There is no such feline!
Puckmosis: I believe! Someday I will prove he is real.
Okay zoomies, Today is Paper Airplane Day! In fact, it’s National Paper Airplane Day. So let’s make some aeronautical origami!
I still have my copy of the Great International Airplane Book by Jerry Mander (Is that really his name?), George Dippel, and Howard Gossage. Still available, but rather pricey. When my kids were young, I used to fold a few at work each day and bring them home for them. Some were my own designs. The kids loved them—and so did the cats. (Hey, you bring birds inside! How come you won’t let me bring birds inside?)
Not only are paper airplanes fun, they are historical. However, you don’t want to get me started on aviation—almost as dangerous as asking me about Roman history … (Mindless detail about ancient weapons systems.) (Yes, paper airplanes can be effectively weaponized. I’ve done it. No, I will NOT tell you how!)
If you want to make them for your cats, choose an acrobatic design, and make several. Feline anti-aircraft can be very effective. Do not, under any circumstances, hang them from the blades of ceiling fans. Feline anti-aircraft can be very effective!
Now, up in the air, junior bird men/women/cats/et al!
I received my I believe in Mailmen magnet today. I didn’t actually see the mailperson when they delivered it, just their truck, but I believe it was actually delivered by an actual mailperson.
Asking for prayers, good thoughts, whatever… I’ve got Artemis at the emergency vet now. I don’t know if she got into something or if an animal got her, but she isn’t doing well. She was fine when I left for work, but I thought I had lost her already when I got home.

But Angora, if there were letters in the mailbox, how would you nap in such a perfectly sized BOX?

The third panel gives me an idea; get a plastic mailbox, fasten it to a plywood square and place it in the corner. A cat would LOVE it.

And I can’t sell you what you don’t want to buy…
What about love? Don’t let it slip away.
What about love? I only want to share with you
You might need it someday”♫ (Heart)

Personally, I would be more excited by Puck and the Woman introducing Goldie to British mysteries and a few episodes of MURDER, SHE WROTE.

Angora – where do you think the money comes from to pay for all your haute cature clothing? Purrsace gowns don’t grow catnip stems.

She’s so well coordinated that even her “heightened emotion” blush matches her gown.

Even through my darkest days
be it Kit or kin
Always something comes in waves
here beneath my skin
And constant craving
has always been
Maybe a great magnet pulls
all cats from above
Or maybe it is life itself
that feeds yearning for deep love
Constant craving
has always been
