Right now I have 2 black & white cats. I’m not sure who are the parents of Boots, but her mother & Q-Tip’s Greatgrandmother were kittens at the same time in the same group. There were 3 females who gave birth at about the same time, so they could be related. Boots has an adorable white stripe down her nose & Q-Tip was a white dot at the end of his black tail (hence the name) so it’s cute when you can see both her nose & the end of his tail.

Graham, I received my copy of your Thank You book yesterday. Thank you for such a lovely tribute to all those who deserve it.

As always, I want to cuddle Oliver. And all of them. Thank you!

Alpha Cat Update

AC continues to extend the influence of the Empire of the Iron Paw. He was mixing it up a few weeks go with something bigger than him with nasty claws. Whatever it was, it’s gone and he remains. He has a nice Prussian dueling scar on the right side of his muzzle (which we doctored) like the old warrior that he is. Nicely matches the slightly tattered (over many battles) ears.

The neighbors (whose dog he beat into submission) are now admirers of his. He goes over, visits, shakes a paw with them and graciously accepts any treats they may give him.

From disliking him they’ve come to understand him and appreciate his qualities.

The neighbors say he’s more like a dog than a cat. The lady of the house says he’s not really a cat.

We haven’t told them yet that we believe that he’s something very, very remarkable just wearing a cat body…

The photo of Oliver looks so much like my Petey, it brought tears. But good ones, I love the pictures of the boys. They are beautiful cats. I assume their personalities are great inspirations for the cartoon characters.

I can see where you got their personalities just from those pics. Look forward to seeing the inspirations for the others (even if they don’t exist IRL, I’m sure there was a cat or two behind the personalities. I suspect Lily’s inspiration was a blue-cream Tortoishell). 8-)

Colin lived just long enough to welcome/show the ropes to 2 of my current 3, Oliver and Tyler. Christopher was adopted later, as an adult, from a neighbor. It is wonderful of Graham to show us pictures of his inspirations. Now I better understand how he creates these feline stories/arcs and makes them believable.

Awwww, such beautiful kitties! :) Even Chesney looks downright adorable. On another note, saw some robins, a towhee, a dragonfly, and three rabbits while out walking today.

On Monday, I saw my first fawn of the year. It was probably a couple of days old, by the way it was frolicking around. So today, I am looking out at our common ground, and see mama with three fawns. Take a closer look, and two were way smaller than the other. Mom walks off with her baby, so I went out to get a closer look. The two of them walked right up to me!!! They were newborn, still wobbly. They followed me to my backyard and tucked themselves under an evergreen until mama came. So exciting! I had the same thing happen a couple of years ago, and a neighbor also saw their birth, so we knew how old those two were.

I’d cuddle all of them and distract Lily with a laser pointer
