I recently became a widower, and one of the zillion things I have to get used to now is I no longer have someone willing to shave my back.

I’ve been using my beard trimmer to give myself a haircut. I have to say that the results are acceptable – at least what I can see. I can’t see the back of my head. I have no idea what it looks like back there.

It must be good enough – people behind me at the store don’t snicker.

My first thought was “Hmmmm … Shark in sheep’s clothing.”

I like to think this explains the occasional back beard I see at the pool. Otherwise, I can’t imagine why someone would leave a triangle of hair on their backs thinking, “Yeah, that looks good.”
