Sounds like a certain commercial training institute ad from that period. We used to smile at it, but in the last 5 decades it has become a key to solid employment for many. Funny the twists life takes.
And it looks like Spook was one of their first students.
I don’t get it. I would say it resembles 1s and 0s, but the x does not resemble a 1, and nobody programs in binary (that’s what assembler is for, if that was the case you would use hex, not binary)
This one caused a flashback to 1970 for me. Hamilton Watch was getting into computers and we had some chubby nerd in the stockroom office tracking punch cards. He managed to get himself a job elsewhere before everything went down the tube. The name still exists but it exists only as the property of another watch company.

Is that computer programming or tv show programming?

Given that Spook is pointing at a grid with 6 Os and 3 Xs in the second panel, I think he needs a course in algorithms…

I don’t get it. Unless he means that programming is like playing tic-tac-toe with yourself and still losing…?

He should consider a career in drawing, because that’s how the game ends when both people know which tactics work, in a draw.

From his style I believe he already works for Microsoft…

The problem with programming is you can never tell what a program is going to do until it’s to late.
