An alien civilization aims its telescopes at Earth. Using the sunlight that gets refracted through or atmosphere, they determine its composition. They determine that it is approximately 21% oxygen, but it also contains trace amounts of methane.
Methane does not exist with oxygen for very long. Something must be replenishing it at a steady rate – quite possibly a biological process .
A significant amount of methane is produced in the bowels of bovines. Therefore bullsh*t is proof of life on Earth.
For those that are interested, P38’s are still available at most Army & Navy stores, and some of them even have one that’s almost twice the size, for easier use. I have my original on my dogtags, as well, but, got each of my kids one, from the local A&N store, in case they go camping, or, even if they lose power.

Now, this is when you would really need to wear a mask outside.
