I grew up in a mostly salt free home, mainly because my mother didn’t like anything salty at all. So I have mostly avoided anything salty and never added salt to anything. However a few years back my doctor was concerned that my blood panels showed a distinct low level of Sodium, well below the normal range – and this after having been preached to for years by the health industry and nutritionists about the evils of Sodium and the need to cut down our salt intake! So I do use a little bit now and then, thinking that might help. At least my Sodium levels are up to the lower half of the normal range now.

It doesn’t take long to get accustomed to the taste of artificial salt.

Salt is not a spice… it’s a mineral!
