In Navy boot camp, one of the dudes gave everyone a nickname. He said MY head looked like a potato. For three months my name was “Spud”.

The correct phrase, Earl, is “It was the spit and image.” Sadly, trying to encourage use of the proper idiom is a lost cause these days.

I love using old fashioned idioms and getting quizzical looks from my kids … “You better kind your Ps & Qs!” Then try to explain its relation to typesetting LOL

About the time Bill Clinton was having his heart problems, I found a Cheeto that looked just like a heart. Might as well have been Bill Clinton’s heart as anyone’s. I was planning on an E-Bay auction, but then it disappeared, and I never did find it.

Too bad Roscoe ate it Earl. Our dogs loved them too, along with our cats.

It’s bad to let dogs eat anything without permission. They can easily eat things that will poison them.
