Or it could be like the roach coaches in my neighborhood…I hear “La Cucaracha” in it’s proper major key….a different truck in a MINOR key…and there;s a third one that changes keys throughout the phrase!

It’s a really different thing to jog out to the truck in the summer versus getting on all that gear to go out to the truck in the winter.

My neighborhood ice cream truck plays “Turkey in the Straw,” a song that suggests neither summer, nor frozen treats. Go figure . . .

The Mr. Softee theme goes right through my head.

I wish they’d go back to just ringing bells.

Wonder what tune would be used on hot chocolate trucks. Winter Wonderland?

In this day and age, retrofitting the play list should be as simple as downloading new tunes on your iPod… Going from ice boxes to coffee and hot chocolate urns on the other hand might take a bit longer.

It would be not an easy profit, i think. First, you would need to develop your own kind of hot chocolate, so you’re not copying another person’s company, get a drivers license and a license to own a food truck, make your hot chocolate making small enough to fit a truck, buy a truck, put hot chocolate inside, decorate truck, and THEN you can sell.

As a kid, ice cream trucks were like the pied piper; as an old fogey, they just produce an ear worm

Way back in my college years at Georgia Tech, an ice cream truck PARKED outside my dorm and kept its dinger on. Ding…ding…ding… There were several demands to shut it off that were ignored. But then: Ding…ding…ding…BLAM-DINNNGG…silence.

Converting to a hot chocolate… and perhaps warm brownie gig in the winter DOES sound like a damn good idea, actually.

“Summer tunes” my eye. The ice cream trucks here play CHRISTMAS music for the most part, if you can call anything played with that tone “music.”

The easiest answer is that people go outside less in the cold.

Are there still ice cream trucks? Anyway, it reminds me of the movie Comfort and Joy (1984).

Difficult to express sound in a comic without using some kind of SFX or music notes.
