Is he bathing because he has another cat in his life?

Our (female) cat marks us regularly and thoroughly. More right after we shower, seems like. Which makes sense. And of course we can’t smell it. Though it does seem like maybe other pets can. Not that we’re seeing very many other people’s pets these days.

as much I grew up with cats, it did get annoying when they did the thing of rubbing all over me with their scent glands

I’m everybody’s sign post here. I pay more attention to their wants and needs than the “busy people” do.

Or it could be that the wife has intentionally changed all of your hygiene products to be “All Natural” and must include Catnip!!! (Smirk!)

Earl is a one-female man.

My cat jumps on my back and starts licking my hair! I try to grab her first, then she goes “no bones” quite the weirdo!

Poor Earl..he became a marked man!

Sad day again . No puppy … I love the Roscoe .

Ahh, that makes scents.

I had a pet Rat that used to wash my husband’s hair one at a time for quite some time, it was so cute!

It’s not so bad. People smell worse than cats do.

My cat even marks the clipboard I work my puzzles on.

“This is Muffin’s property.”

Washing the wrong thing.. a good scrubbing of the cat would be more effective… but it might take more than a few scrubs so keep at it. Wear good leather gloves and a long sleeved shirt.. one of those welders jackets would be perfect.

Have it spayed, THEN take a shower. Just to see if it works, AND test your marriage. Never too old to have fun playing with risk.

If you have a cat in your life, you really don’t need a woman (unless for certain necessities.)

Opal is right, but she left out the part where marking you with the scent glands is her way of claiming you. She is warning other cats to stay away because you are hers.

My female cat who is normally a bit standoffish, will mark my calves and ankles after I get out of the shower, almost every time.

Fortunately, humans cannot smell the “chin-marking” scent. It’s actually a sign of great intimacy. When I go walking with my cat in the morning, I have to watch my step until she feels she has sufficiently “claimed” me.

Why are you washing it off Earl? Now you have an excuse to go out “Tomcatting” around!

I will NEVER get that image of…. “Earl in the shower” out of my head – THANKS….. THANKS A LOT..!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I had to go shower to get cat gland scent off of me, the cat would go outside or better yet, be put up for adoption.
