    At least it wasn’t kale. My mother used to feed me kale, had a “nice” nursing home picked out for her.

    I can stand canned spinach if it’s got a dollop of mayonnaise, and fresh spinach if it’s cooked in an omelet but frozen spinach tunrs me completely off. Taste buds are funny things. . .

    My wife actually grows kale. Turns out the young leaves are much better than the old ones you see in stores.

    I remember when my parents grew spinach in their garden: if you didn’t wash the leaves well enough, you were eating mud.

    To paraphrase Henny Youngman, some people argue about whether to put their bbq grill on sand or on grass. put it on sand and drop the steak it’ll taste like sand. put it on grass and drop the steak, serve it anyway. It’ll look like bits of spinach and taste like sand.
