Change of subject. For all those uncomfortable with summer, August 1st is the halfway point between the summer solstice and a autumnal equinox. Summer is halfway over.
Sorry… very little about this Virus is becoming funny. Everything is turning into people becoming meaner and meaner to everyone. Because of the levels of frustration… violence is the only outlet people can find. Looking for someone to blame is pointing fingers at people who have limited power… unless people comply with what is suggested to survive. And hoping for the vaccine… rumor has it that the company who is developing it… if they asked $10 per shot… they would make a healthy profit. But they are close to asking $3000 per shot… because they can.
The problem with anyone saying they have a reliable long lasting vaccine for C-19 before around this time next year, is the studies won’t be long enough to determine the efficiency of the vaccine before nearly this time next year. Most vaccines take about 4 years to develop, some longer, partly to determine efficiency, partly to determine how safe the vaccine is for everyone to use. Some never reach an efficiency rate to make them worth using. Anyone saying they have a cure all, end all vaccine for Covid-19 in October is lying and relying on hope that it will last at least a year at a time.
Not sure that’s enough to go on, after all, the Republicans were hoping and praying for a summer reprieve and that didn’t happen. If anything the summer weather has made people extra stupid about pretending there’s nothing to worry about. Tired of reading about Trumpers only realizing how serious the pandemic is and how real it is, after they through a party where someone shows up infected, passes it to many of the other people at the party and someone dies. I have some sympathy, but not a lot at this point. Anyone who thinks this is a Democratic hoax is beyond stupid, and not worth a whole lot of sympathy at this point. Especially, as it is their actions that is causing the spikes of Covid-19 nationwide. Which is especially egregious after the sacrifices so many made sheltering at home for so long.
So hoping and praying a vaccine will work just because they want it to is not enough. Even if they got lucky and one of the vaccines being tested turns out to be viable, it does not take away their gross incompetence, in fighting, trying to get herd immunity by making wearing a protective mask properly somehow and infringement of some bizarre right. In that causing many people to contract a virus they may have not contracted if everyone would just wear and handle their masks responsibly.
Based on various news reports, all of the vaccines in development are going to require regular booster shots, at least yearly, due to their short term antibody life.
The junior soothsayer might be right, horrifying as that is. Between CV-19 and the possibility that Buttercup will be reelected, I don’t know which I fear most, but October’s big push might be the crucial month for both.
I’m more afraid of the late November and December surprises if tRump loses. What is in the stack of reprehensible Executive Orders, the poison pills, that he intends to sign to punish the electorate.
On November 6th one of two things are going to happen, if the dementia patient wins the vaccine will be miraculously released. If Trump wins there will be a significant delay in its development that could push back its release about 4 years.
know what would surprise me? If everyone stopped blaming each other and looked around to see what they could do in their own neighborhoods to make things better. Anyone who expects the government to make things all better hasn’t been watching ALL the players act like spoiled children.

October is just before November and the first Tuesday in November is the 3rd. Hate to think what a surprise might be

Given how stable the President is, there is almost certainly going to be an October surprise. If there is no surprise, that would also be a surprise.

I’m not to sure I want to take a vaccine that big business slapped together like this. It has “oops” written all over it.

The only October surprise I’m hoping for is a resignation.

How soon before Trump floats some cockamamie theory that Vice President Biden must be removed from the ballot?
