As much as I grew up with cats, I had never heard of dew-claws. What’re those? The envisioning thereof in the final panel doesn’t help much.
ThataCat is super cute!!!
At least the pet (I assumed it was a dog) didn’t brag about where it could lick.
Many years ago I had a polydactl cat with the extra toes on the side of his paw, like a thumb
He could open cabinet doors, and pick up potato chips
Smart cat, too
They aren’t. Dogs have dew claws. That fifth claw on cats’ forefeet are in fact thumbs. Not exactly opposable, but very handy for holding on to a mouse.
