Ten Cats by Graham Harrop for July 19, 2020

Well, so they didn’t spell Oliver’s name right on the banner and one of the cats forgot to put anything in their present. It’s the thought that counts, isn’t it? At least they remembered Oliver on his birthday.

Today is:

National Ice Cream Day. They had ice cream in our break rook freezer yesterday on my day off. I wonder if there will be any left today?

That looks exactly what a cat birthday would look like! Everybody milling around, doing their own thing. I’m surprised not more of them are napping tho!

Best news today, insurance is going to pay for new flooring for the whole house! It’s because the same flooring is in every room and there is no more of this pattern anywhere. Yay!

I heard on last night’s news that we had a heat index at 5 pm Saturday of 100°. Weird. I was outside reading a book in my lawn swing and I didn’t feel hot at all. It didn’t feel the least bit muggy to me.

We had a thundershower in the morning so I had to wait until afternoon to pick my green beans. I picked 8 pounds of beans.

I see ears sticking out of the piñata fluff.

From yesterday’s comments, I did have my dash cam running when I had that near-accident with the kid on the bike. I never looked at the video, so I don’t know how well it came out being so dark, but I certain;y would have looked at it if I had hit the kid. I LOVE my dash cam and I’m so happy I got it.

Well! I apparently caused quite a ruckus the other day when I said I felt sorry for the artist because all of the comments were about personal things, not his cartoon. Guess I should have mentioned that I don’t mind the personal comments; lots of people do it on the other strips I read, too. I had just been noticing that this strip often has many more comments like that, than about the strip. I get 30 comics each day and I don’t think any of them have that kind of imbalance, so I thought it was notable.

Perfect cat birthday, plenty of things to mess with and swat. Only difference if it were humans, everyone would be staring at thier phones.

Soon, if this birthday thing continues, Sweet Oliver will no longer be a kitten……. I wonder if the other nine are all spayed/neutered……

I would give him one of those heartbeat snuggle kitties. I gave two to my friend (I’ve talked about her here) that trapped two kittens last week. They’re from a feral mama that was in a terrible fight and died. She send me pics and said the babies calmed down immediately and snuggle with the heartbeat kitty.

So Oliver is a year older and still a kitten…to keep the kitten illusion going you can’t have birthdays for him in the story.

I had a cat who was the runt of the litter. She always acted like a kitten and I loved her for it and never wanted her to change!

Do you celebrate the birthday of your furry one? I never knew when any of mine were born. But then, they always were spoiled, so I don’t know what more I could have done.
