I didn’t think it was so funny when those blankety blank beavers made a swamp out of 3 acres of my land. Do the words “DEP” and “wetlands” mean anything to you?

Yes they do, Lewreader. Next to PETA they’re my favorite PITA’s. M80’s tied to a brick used to take care of the “wetlands” for me.

If you want your father to buy into it, you’re going to need to put on the gown I have here for you. You father can’t resist a dam sell in this dress.

Here’s something I’m pretty sure I didn’t say the last time this one was here (but I love this one, Thom).

the last place I drive before pulling into my driveway is across an earthen dam that makes a good size pond/very small lake across the road from me.

I’d be thrilled if beavers build a dam on the outflow stream. Lew. IDEM, or some other agency, hired out a survey last year to see what would be destroyed if the dam gave way. The answer is not a lot.

Several years ago training thunderstorms caused the pond to overflow the dam. If there wasn’t a paved road across the top, it might’ve washed out.

This really is old………….after the long droughts we’ve been having, that dam would only be half full today.

Love all those colors, Thom! Dam! You’re good!!! :))

Here on the Dakota tundra, we have one of the larger Earth-filled dams in the world across the Missouri from near Garrison to Fort Peck.

Reminds me of the fuss in Michigan over some dams constructed without permits.

I hope that’s not in Michigan.

One of our local newscasters recently had a weekend in Vegas and drove over the new suspension bridge- all her group were anticipating the view- but there was none (not of Hoover Dam or even anything to indicate that they were ON a bridge. I would also be disappointed! I understand , though that in this day (lawsuits and suicides) it is needed, but what a shame! At least our Grand Canyon has a new spectacular view- I hope! It has been a few years since I was there!
