Wearing a mask for everyday in order to protect yourself. Who knew Calvin was a prophet.

That’s sweet, Calvin; but I don’t think Hobbes is going to be fooled.

What I don’t get, is, what is the use of this mask? Hobbes has been known to attack from every direction with equal success. (Like when Calvin comes from school)

How does Calvins mom not know he’s getting pounced on all the time? She’s really not paying attention.

If you really want to avoid an attack, paint eyeballs on your butt cheeks. Or does that only work for lions?

Mom’s don’t need masks. They already have eyes in the back of their head.

HELP! There has to be a humorous collection of words that can be put together to make this relevant to today’s crisis (COVID).I can’t think of any!

When Calvin said India, felt a little letdown. Don’t know why?

We never wear masks around here.

One of the few times Watterson mentioned any holiday besides Christmas. Cultural insensitivity aside, the mask now seems oddly timely.

I’m from India and delighted to see such little detail has been noticed and spread to the world. Thanks Calvin, you just proved, knowledge is more important than grades.

I´m not wearing a mask there, I get enough insults as it is without being called two faced!

I actually found several articles about people in the Ganges Delta region in India wearing masks to prevent tiger attacks (I’m really busy at work) there is a NY Times article from 1989 with pictures. Calvin is more knowledgeable than people think.

It’s got nothing to do with Halloween – it’s because of tigers — rumor has it, if you are looking at them (hence the mask on the back of your head) they won’t attack you…

Ummm, I recently came across an article that claimed that this whole mask-wearing thing was thought up by some British film makers to spice up their documentary on the Sunderbans tigers. Apparently, tigers aren’t fooled by this “trick”. Mom should still be wary of Hobbes… :D

Ok i m a fellow indian and apologise for this extreme reaction…..this is Calvin….and calvin is doing his thing…..let the kid do his thing….. we Indians do have a sense of humour….not all will take offence at this strip…also these r re-runs….i bet the information in those days were not as “fast or accurate” as these days…..
