The landscaping started today…all the rock is gone, I picked out a big tree (Holly Oak) and we finalized the design.. they have to hurry, it’s supposed to hit 112 on Thursday!
Sorry about Sweetheart, not so Happy. My neighbor’s Lab had a cancer and she was only about ten or so. Kolby was the best girl I never had, tho’ we used to meet at our yard boundary on many mornings in all the seasons.
There may be a waif waiting somewhere for you, at the right time.
Happy, after seeing Gweedo’s comment I went back to yesterday. So sorry, I know how much Sweetheart means to you. The upside is, now you can spoil her silly. I hope she is comfortable and you have lots more time together.
Spicy (lower right in my avatar) and I are both living with cancer and hoping for a long stretch to come.
I’m sorry to hear of Sweetheart’s cancer. How old is she now? I hope she will be with you a good while longer. When my Sneakers got a tumor on his back leg, we had to amputate the leg to save his life. He was only 9 years old when he got cancer. He lived another 10 years after losing his leg. Sadly, a few other cats I had did not live so long after getting cancer. There was Heidi who died in 1999 at age 11, Duchess in 2004 at age 19, Oscar in 2012 who was only 3 years old and Dolly just earlier this year at about age 14. Stupid cancer needs to stop taking away people and cats I love!
I love dogs, but I love cats more. I really wouldn’t mind having a dog, but I’m gone too long each day at work and it wouldn’t be fair to ask a dog to go so long without going to the bathroom.
Route Nine! After THAT crack you deserve even less featured time on this strip. Learn from Woof (keeps his remarks to himself) and little Ollie, who, um, mostly utters innocent Oliverisms.
Love Annie’s expression in the last panel. Looks like she’s thinking “Oh brother, now what?!” Dogs are alright, but I don’t know if I’d want one of my own. Spent the weekend looking after my Sister and brother in law’s dogs, and hoo boy, they were a handful! On another note, saw two robins and two rabbits while out walking today. I also saw a raven outside.
Craig has been gone 8 months now, and there are still so many days I would not go out if the dogs didn’t need their walks. Pets are truly lifesavers when one is grieving.
