I’ve said it before, but Buzzfeed actually has some fine journalists working for them (though not on the clickbaity part of the site) – they’re fine journalists because they actually do journalism by talking to people rather than reading press releases, and going back to primary sources, and asking difficult questions of authorities, and so forth.

    Of course nobody reads them.

I completely gave up on news, it doesnt exist anymore. Its just feed your segment of the audience what they want to hear. And its made us all worse for it.

check this photo-shopped photo of a celebrity to confirm that the rumors we made up are true. And don’t forget to check this secret that doctors don’t want you to know. And recently, don’t learn pentatonic scales, here’s why

On my phone I get a rotating list of news stories I can click. I always stop and look before I click. The most clickable links seem to come from one service, so like the horned gentlemen in the comic, I think, almost journalism, and go on to something else.

We don’t need the “Weekly World News” any longer, the regular papers have filled that niche!

In Rat’s case it should be: “If you click, I’ll give you a kick”
