Don’t know how many times I’ve told my wife “But I wouldn’t do that in a fancy restaurant…”

is it a good thing they’re not eating Japanese noodles (ramen, udon, soba, somen) where it is considered good Japanese table manners to slurp the noodles?

Opal isn’t much of a romantic. If she were she’d think about having a “Lady and the Tramp” moment.

At least he’s eating it and not making comments about it like he does your other cooking!

I’d be willing to bet there was a time when she actually wanted Earl to um, slurp her spaghetti.

Opal sounds more like my mother every day. My poor Dad… but I miss them both.

I prefer my spaghetti broke into smaller pieces before cooking. That way you don’t have to fight with it. Tastes the same.

How long have they been married? Did it take her this long to decide that she was offended by his slurping his noodles?

In Japan, that’s the way noodles are eaten, by slurping them. My wife’s from Japan. :-)
