I so agree about the summer weather! I HATE snow! I have been blessed all through my vacation with fantastic weather – lots of low to mid 80-s, a few upper 70’s or low 90’s (with low humidity on those warmer days). Today, it’s supposed to hit 90°, but I’m okay with that.

Sad to say, today is the last day of my vacation (big frown). It’s been a great couple weeks with fantastic weather. I got to eat a lot of sweet corn from my garden and I froze a lot to enjoy after the season is over. I have one piece of watermelon left to eat later today. It was wonderful – sweet and juicy and absolutely perfect! I got a little house cleaning done. I spent most of my time every day outside from the time I got up in the morning until it started getting dark. I got a lot of work done in my yard. I have a nice-sized brush pile awaiting pickup to testify to the work I did. I did some painting on my house – a project I started a couple years ago and never finished. I called a few roofers (still waiting for estimates). I did a little cleaning in my garage. I even cleaned out my messy, dirty car. I fixed the 2 flat tires on my bike (they just needed pumping up) and I took a couple short spins on it. I’m puzzled why the bike pedals so hard, though. The slightest of uphill grades leave me exhausted because it’s so hard to pedal. The plan for today is to take a quick trip to my garden to see what needs picking and to spend most of the rest of the day just relaxing and reading in my lawn swing. That’s how I spent many hours on my vacation – reading. I think I read 6 or 7 books on vacation and I did some crossword puzzles and Sudoku puzzles too. A wonderful vacation. I wish I didn’t have to go back to work on Sunday! I can hardly wait for my next vacation, whenever that may be.

Somebody achieved escape velocity. Not sure it was Oliver. Maybe by tomorrow there will be ten cat shaped holes in the wall. Chesney gets the last ride.

Congratulations to Giant Pandas, Mei Xiang and Tian Tian, on their new arrival last night at 6:35pm at The National Zoo.

Mr. Hollingsworth……. pay up or move aside so Jellybean, who is next in line, can board said turn table, and up chuck her breakfast.

Ya know….I now believe that a kitty is CURRENTLY RIDING THE TURNTABLE. Am guessing that is This Side Up’s brown tail spinning and he is soon to be launched. That warehouse wall will soon be dotted with quite a number of feline silhouettes.

I really hope Graham will bring back Mimieux sometimes when he returns from his TenCats vacation. And Rufous, he’s very funny.

I was studying the last panel again & I think that it is 2 cats on the wall. The one right against the wall seems to be Lily, with a black cat on top. It could be Woof or Jack. I might be wrong, but it really looks like a white ear.

Round and round the kitties go, where they stop, is likely somewhere in the wall! Now there’s something you can’t do with an MP3 player! On another note, saw three dragonflies and a rabbit while out walking today.

Good for you. Sounds like you had a great time.Isn’t reading the best. I don’t think I could make it through the last few months (or any of the hardest times in my life) if I couldn’t read to pass the time.I love fiction. It’s a great place to hide from reality temporarily.
