And just how were you planning on getting to the beach? Didn’t you just say that you needed Annie to drive you there? Annie is probably home and in bed by this time.
Good news/bad news about my 3-speed bike which our assembler at work worked on for me today. Bad news. He couldn’t fix it. It has a bad chain. Several links are locked together so they don’t bend between each link. So it also can’t stay on the sprocket correctly. More bad news is that the spacing on the links on my chain are not the same as the spacing on the chains we sell in the store. Robert doesn’t know where I would be able to find a chain to fit this bike. I always love that old bike (I just remembered today that I named my bike “Kitty”). But my only real hope of getting it fixed would be with someone who works on antique bikes.
And that’s where the good news comes in. My bike is an antique. Funny how I always just looked at it as a much loved old bike that I bought 44 years ago with my high school graduation money. I put a lot of miles on that bike back in those days. I wish I had a speedometer/odometer on that bike so I could have kept track how many miles I rode it. I tried to take good care of it – never leaving it out in the rain. It still does have some rust on it, but Robert told me he’s amazed at how little rust it has for its age. He said he was real excited when he first saw the bike because he said it’s a really great old bike. It could even be worth some real money – even in the condition it’s in with no chain on it. Good, solid frame, good free-spinning tires, etc. He couldn’t say enough good things about it. I could actually sell it for some decent money. He was just sorry that he couldn’t fix. Me too. I was looking forward to riding it again. I guess I never will.
On another note, I saw a fox on my way to work yesterday. It ran right in front of my car. I had to hit the brakes pretty hard to miss hitting it. It glanced at me as it ran across the street. A woman in the car behind me hollered out to me “Good job!” when we got to the stop light. She was glad to see I stopped in time foe the fox to cross. We talked a little before the light turned green and we went our separate ways (I turned left and she went straight ahead).

Don’t worry, kitties, you can always go to the beach tomorrow. (Assuming it doesn’t rain.) On another note, saw a chickadee while out walking today. I also saw a wren, a raven, and a woodpecker outside. Worked in my garden from late morning to early afternoon.
I am asking for prayers, or good thoughts for an 11 year old girl, Yesmin Calixto, whom my daughter has been tutoring through virtual school. Wednesday she had an upset tummy, and I took chicken noodle soup, crackers and ginger ale down for her. Yesterday she was throwing up and her mom left work and took her to the doctor who said she had strep throat. She stayed home again today and her aunt called her mom at work to say she was having chest pains. Her mom left work and took her to the ER. They said her blood sugar was sky high. (to no one’s knowledge does she have diabetes), and have sent her and her mom by ambulance to Le Bonheur Children’s hospital in Memphis. I do know that strep can travel to any organ and shut it down. My daughter has taken my car and gone behind them with clothes and necessities. (her car is ancient with a bad transmission). This family has had so much tragedy this year.

Today is:
National Thoughtful Day.
Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. I have many cats over that bridge and I miss every one of them.
National Red Wine Day, I only drink it before it’s wine. I like grape juice (though I don’t drink it often) but I don’t drink wine.
National Power Rangers Day
National Bow Tie Day. You don’t see many people sporting bow ties there days.
National Cherry Turnover Day. Yum!
