Cats (and non-working dogs… probably all pets) are surrogate children. And as with children, if we didn’t think they were cute and loveable (that’s NOT the same as them loving us) they would have long ago died out.

Spencer is a ‘surprise biter’ and I must love him or I’d have taken him to a shelter a long time ago!

Guess we were lucky as none of the cats my hubby had bite me and same goes for his dog, Mr. Bo Jangles.

Usually when a cat bites, it’s not a matter of being mad at you or wanting to hurt you. Rather’s it’s a case of “let me show you this new game I just made up!”

Saw a meme that showed a cat looking at a deep scratch across its master’s wrist. The caption says, “What did you learn today?” The answer was, “I can make your death look like suicide.”

Actually, infections from cat bites can be quite dangerous.

She has claws, and she’s not afraid to use them on the furniture. The Mafia is less retaliatory than Muffin is…

We had this huge gray tomcat, One eye, 1 1/2 ears, crooked tail solid gray. He loved children and would let them do ANYTHING to him. If they really got on his nerves, he would just amble off and vanish. One day, “Baby Paul” was playing with him while his Mom was over seeking someone over the age to 3 to talk to.

Suddenly, Paul cried, “Kitty bit me!”

“That cat would not have bit you unless you did something awful to him, and then you deserve it.”

(I really don’t think the cat big him. Paul could be over dramatic.)

Milo gives love bites if you pet him too much. I took him because most shelters do away with biting cats and don’t even try to find them homes.

I acquired a large Burmese/Siamese cross because other than his previous owner, I was the only human he liked. Pound for pound, this was one of the nastiest creatures I’ve ever owned. He would rather bite or scratch you, than look at you.

What was funny was how well he got along and played with my large dogs, completely ignored the other cat in the house, barely tolerated my then-wife, and terrorized any small dog that crossed his path.

I never understood why he was affectionate with me since I’m not particularly a cat lover.

Hmm. If your housecat were bigger, it would hunt you and eat you.

While they are still kittens, if they scratch or nip, I make a big deal out of being hurt. I don’t try to scare the cat or make it mad. I mean a big deal “ouch, ouch, ouch.” Most cats prefer a quiet life, so soon learn to be careful.

Reminds me of our cat, Vicious. Patsy wanted to name her something else but my name fit her much better. Every now and then, without any warning, she would bring her teeth together through your thumb.

We used to have a cat when he wanted attention jump on lap and head bump, when giving a good rub, never knew he bite when he was done.

Sounds like our cat. If I’m petting him and he turns and looks at me and his eyes get big, I stop it. I learned that from experience. But he does “nudge” my face a lot.

Muffin bit Nelson probably because Nelson interrupted the cat with his “extra curricular” activities of licking his paw, or meditating.
